Secure data transmission in hydropower plants

In the field of renewable energy, hydropower is currently one of the most important energy sources worldwide. Unlike wind power or photovoltaic plants, it is less dependent on weather conditions and is thus rated as a more consistent source of electricity.

Regardless of whether it is a small hydropower plant, a storage power plant or a run-of-river power plant, no two hydropower plants are alike. The construction has to be planned individually and realized under consideration of the local conditions. This is the only way to guarantee that hydropower can exploit its advantage of high efficiency and convert a good 90% of hydropower into usable energy.

Hydropower plants have a high degree of complexity and usually consist of different units. Smooth functionality of the plants is a top priority and is based on secure communication between all modules. Fiber optic cables are often used for this purpose. Adapted to the respective environmental conditions such as high temperature fluctuations, dust, humidity or rodents, fiber optic cabling enables secure data traffic in this critical infrastructure.

As an experienced specialist for cabling solutions in critical infrastructures, we provide you with a tailor-made system that meets all your needs. Based on our many years of experience, this results in a reliable data infrastructure that makes a significant contribution to the operational safety of your plant.
